RED NOTES is a choir born out of a long tradition of using political songs to campaign for peace, justice, freedom and internationalism. The Choir started in January 2002, inspired by Cor Cochion Caerdydd. (See Links)
We use the streets of Bristol and further afield to spread our message of fighting for the rights of working people, those who are oppressed, and those seeking the right to self-determination. We sing at local and national marches, festivals, union meetings and benefits events. We have an international repetoire of union, peace, environmental and struggle songs.
NEW MEMBERS WELCOME!
Red Notes currently has 20 choristers and we always welcome new members. No formal musical knowledge is required.
If you like campaigning and singing why not join us?
Simply turn up at St Werburghs Community Centre, Horley Road on Wednesdays (7.30-9.30pm) to join in with the singing or just listen to us if you prefer. You may also hear us in the streets one day!
For more information email us at rednoteschoir@yahoo.co.uk
We also have another website at www.rednoteschoir.org.uk (see Links) which has details and clips of the songs on our CD and more photos.
