South Gloucestershire Capri & Probe Owners Club
“Ford Capri, the car you always promised yourself”

This was Ford's slogan when the Capri was released to an eager public in 1969. This was Ford Europe's answer to the Ford Mustang that had taken the US by storm.

Although the Capri was never expected to sell in the quantities of the 'repmobiles' of the day, with its combination of uncomplicated mechanics, sporting performance and distinctive good looks, the Capri proved to be an instant hit. It enjoyed an amazingly long production run of 17 years with the last car, a special edition Brooklands 280 rolling off the production line in December 1986.

Not before time, the Capri has now attained classic status and many more people are valuing the individual style that makes the Capri as distinctive now as it was when it first rolled off the production line. The car still has a fiercely loyal following today and the South Gloucestershire Club was formed by the dedicated group of enthusiasts who are determined to keep these cars on the road for many more years to come.

The Club also caters for Ford's successor to the Capri, the Ford Probe and is affiliated to the Ford Probe Owners Club UK, along with Capri Club International.

The Club hold monthly meets and attend various rallys during the summer months and is open to owners and fans of any Capri or Probe model. Members gain from the mass of knowledge and experience within the club and a wide range of contacts to help keep your Capri or Probe on the road where it belongs and also run an emergency spares scheme for members.
