The Avon Riding Centre, which leases acres of beautiful pasture and woodland opposite Blaise Castle Park, is to be found at Kings Weston Road, Henbury, Bristol. A link to a map of the area is given at the foot of the "horsey links".
We are easily accessible from the M5 motorway junctions 17 and 18, are within 15 minutes drive of the city centre and on bus routes to Henbury and Lawrence Weston.
Originally opened in 1981, the Centre, with the help of hardworking and generous supporters, has continued to grow in both recognition and size. It is now very well known throughout the region and a large new wing adds immensely to the excellent facilities already available.

The Avon Riding Centre is one of the largest purpose-built RDA equestrian centres in the UK, enabling the disabled people of this area to benefit greatly from the opportunities, independence and happiness that learning to ride can bring.
We are a registered charity (No. 281648), affiliated to the National Riding for the Disabled Association, and are self-funding. Therefore, to maintain the heavily subsidised disabled riding programmes, the Centre offers tuition in flat work, jumping, schooling and hacking to able bodied riders - on their own, or on the Centre’s horses and ponies. In addition, the arenas and the new conference area, already used for regional and national training, may be independently hired.
Over 200 disabled children and adults pass through our doors each week to enjoy a high standard of tuition and therapy, whilst riding in the Olympic sized indoor arena, the outdoor manege, or through the woodland trails.
